Starting in Barcelona we were able to visit the newly opened Sagrada de Familia with a wonderful guide - one of the highlights our trip. We had an early entry so the crowds were easily managed and we were able to enjoy both inside and out. The next day we had an all day small group tour of Dali's house and museum - both well worth the travel including the incredible views along the Costa Brava. Travelling by car along the southern coast of France was relatively easily finding great things to see - Pone du Gard, Baux de Provence town and castle, St. Paul de Vence and finally Nice. Val d'Isère's ski season starts in late November, so early to mid-December combines both with fewer people than the holiday weeks. Christmas week itself is possible, but slopes and hotels are at peak rates. We recommend booking by September. ### Do we have to ski? No. Days 5 and 6 are free days on Val d'Isère's 300 km of slopes for those who ski, and since ski passes, equipment rental and lessons are not included, non-skiers simply use the time differently. The village, with its cobbled streets, Savoyard food and hotels, is pleasant for a slower couple of days. Half-board in Val d'Isère is available on request. ### How do we get from Alsace to the Alps? Everything is arranged: a private transfer from the airport to Colmar, a private guide for the Alsace villages, a private transfer to Strasbourg station and a first-class train to Lyon, then a transfer to the Hôtel-Dieu. On day 4 a private transfer takes you from Lyon to Val d'Isère, and on day 7 you are driven to Geneva or Lyon airport. ### What are the hotels like? Two nights in a 4\* hotel in Colmar's old town, one night at the Intercontinental Hôtel-Dieu 5\* in Lyon, the former hospital on the Rhône, and three nights in a 4\* or 5\* ski hotel in Val d'Isère village. Breakfast is included throughout, and the Lyon day ends with dinner at Paul Bocuse's restaurant. ### What is not included?
